Smiths Inductive speed sensor ideal for use with Smiths speedometer or other speedometers that require a pulse signal.

SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION NOTES

  1. The Smiths speed sensor EMP34-1(KIT) is an inductive proximity type, normally used to detect a steel target eg. Bolt heads on a propshaft or driveshaft flange.
  2. The installer needs to provide a suitable mounting bracket such that the air gap, after the sensor has been installed, remains constant under all driving conditions.
  3. The nominal air gap (distance between sensor face and the target) should be set at 2.0mm.
  4. Bolt heads on a propshaft flange (or other target) must be equi-spaced, to ensure the sender generates a constant frequency.
