Fitting a FIA battery master switch is a requirement for most forms of motorsport so that all the electrics and the engine can be turned off with one simple action in case of emergency. In closed cars it is common to fit the switch within reach of the occupants and for a pull cable to be routed from the exterior of the car so that it can be turned off by marshals.
The battery master switch provides three individual circuits:
1. Interupts the main 12V supply from the battery
2. Interupts the ignition supply (stopping the engine)
3. Earths the circuit when the switch is turned off via the included resistor (which protects the alternator diode pack).
Directly interchangable with all similar models and supplied complete with decal and resistor for the earthing circuit.
Additional keys and replacement resistors are available seperately.
