Pertronix flame thrower coils will benefit virtually any distributor type inductive system, so either points types systems or electronic systems with fixed dwell such as the Pertronix Ignitor breakerless electronic modules. Their higher voltage allows larger spark gaps for added power, smoother response and better fuel economy. These coils are internally resisted so installation and wiring is easy.
Please select the 3 Ω version for contact breaker or distributor based inductive 4 & 6 cylinder applications and the 1.5 Ω version for contact breaker or distributor based inductiv 8 & 12 Cylinder applications.
The 0.6 Ω is suited to most constant energy electronic ignition systems & the ultra low resistance 0.32 Ω version is suitable for use with most capacitive discharge boxes.
For high vibration versions epoxy filled coils are better to protect the windings
