Cartek were the first company to produce a rain light to the 2008 FIA specification in accordance with Technical List 19 managing to meet all the requirements in a unit which measures just 57mm X 90mm, weighs only 153g and draws less than 200mA at 12v.
Attention has also been made to the construction of the unit to make it physically robust to withstand the harsh environment of the race car.
This dual colour version was developed to satisfy a request of the Australian V8 Supercar series for an alternative colour mode that could be used as a warning for a stalled or slow moving vehicle. The light is supplied with a 3 position switch allowing the following 3 modes:
Off
Static red on
Flashing amber
Mounting
Mounting is by two integral M6 stainless steel studs with a choice of the lamp being used in vertical or horizontal orientation (please see the "More information" tab) . There's also a foam pad bonded to the rear face so that when it's bolted to a panel then the load is spread across it, particulalry useful on uneven or curved faces.
Electrical connection
Electrical connection is via a twin core fly lead approximately 16cm long exiting the rear of the unit.
